I stopped down there about 1. It can be tough when the Mayflies are hatching. I always went to small black marabou jigs. It is still pretty early for a good bite....h2l

H2l sorry we missed you we left around noon, the mayflies were swarming us on the lake and we got skunked. We were marking fish but they didn’t want to bite. It was the usual should have been here yesterday syndrome. Saw a guy at the launch with an ultralight pontoon airplane, saw him out on the lake also, never did see it in the air. Beer Belly you are right the smaller ones are best.

Hey R G ever catch a red carp ?? Or a buffalo carp ??

Not yet. A couple mirror carp, but never a red or Buffalo.

It’s like any other specie specific fishing. One can throw a lot of time and money at it.

Thats a good effort Pat.  Id like a ditch pickle redo one day.

I fished the housy mid day between meetings.  I got a handful of a brown and many others.  They are in the faster water now.  My favorite.

Also was lucky enough to enjoy a brown trout smallmouth double.  Brown on the dropper and smallie on point!

Another forage base for the walleyes too I would imagine.
Probably not a feasible solution though on a body of water the size of Erie.

An exotic species and the water is probably borderline too cool for them for the most part even in western Lake Erie. And they would die off en mass come fall.
