LOOSE COHO EGGS are HARD to come by some years! Wow is it Warm & Muggy out, 80 degrees! Just did some errons and Ball Park was just OK, but the Staircase, could see quite a few hook ups from the high bridge! Had guys here yesterday say that it is POSTED on both Sides of the Papermill just up from the Trestle bridge! Looks like it's starting already, heard RUMORS that the native Indians from the Casino have plans on making another Pay area from 2A to 81! We'll See!

I wonder why the fish prefer one over the other.
Is it because they stock less browns than cohos and less cohos than browns?
Cohos, Kings and Steelies are all pacific fish and Browns are Atlantic/European.
Whatever the case, they definately like those golden brown eggs.

Brownie eggs are much smaller and very golden yellow, where as Coho eggs are smaller than kings, but bigger than brownies!  I like the smaller size, lets you tie more into a sac, that way during my drift I can pop one every other drift to juice the hole!  Gets alot of scent into a dead pool, creates little flurries sometimes on slow days! I mean during steelie season, not now!

does anyone know where a steelhead fisherman can get brown or coho eggs that doesn't have the oppurtunity or knowledge to get eggs on his own?

Fillet stations in NY for Coho eggs, trout eggs are illegal to sell. Could try hatchery system in PA, heard they sell them!

REALLY! sure there not cohos, probably not enough water in beaver brook for kings!   Hey fishermantime coho's spawn really late out your way if theres no water in the smaller creeks! Was catching Coho's out of schoolhouse pool side trib til January last winter!

The ones in the creek are definetlly salmon, steelies spawn in late winter-spring!  I have heard of very few real steelies mixed in with the Salmon so far this year! Good reports on browns last 2 days though!
