I've stayed away here for awhile cause I mentioned a bait I tied and the guy starts in on me about mentioning it.
Geeeez!
I use all kinds of gear,Vexilars,Fenwick rods,Lowrance H2Oc you name it.
Whats the difference who's product I mention.
I thought these sites were made to help others catch fish.I'll keep it within reason and not make an infomercial ,but get a life people and start fishing.

I've been out for walleyes mostly as of late.

If you look closely you'll see the sassy shad by Mister Twister or a look alike purchased at Gander Mountain hooked on a 1/4 oz. jig to catch these eyes.
I'm working 9-12 FOW trolling 1.3-1.5 MPH with 8 test  Berkeley XT on my 5'8" medium light Lightning rod (Roach Signature sieries).
I reading fish & the bottom in real time with my Vexilar FL-8 and incorprating my H2Oc to mark waypoints for the eyes that we've caught so I can get right back into them.

Took a break this morning until 5 to hit Wilkens for some slabs & gills as my buddy's wife was hungry for some.
We had my hand tied jigs on working 6-7 FOW in the cabbage.

Tried for some eyes.Caught 1 and then this guy. What a digger.

That second sunny from the bottom is a nice specimen! Nice pics and nice fish!

What is the make of that boat motor in the fifth pic from the bottom ??? I have never seen one of those before. It looks like quite a rig.

Thank you for including some details about how the fish were caught. ;)

There's this snobird that say we should go fishing. I got the boat and motor, well he did have a boat and a 50 year old motor. It got us there and back ,but I did offer to use my gear next time.no reverse ,just spin the motor around.I knew someone would pick up on that one.
Good job.

Keep posting.  You can see where I'm from but lately it has been my bro and i on that forum and we talk alot considering he only lives 4 blocks from me.  I almost have my wife convinced to make a summer trip up to the big lake sometime for vacation so I like to see what I could be fishing for if I ever get here to say yes.  I do feel lucky to get a long weekend with the guys at the big lake every feb but want to try a summer trip.

Get on up here!! As the dog days set in, the fishing slows on Mille Lacs. For some odd reason people only come visit in the hottest part of the summer or the coldest part of winter. ???

Yea Skipper,  it seems to always hit a cold snap when we are up there in feb and the temp difference between Il and MN seems to be alot.  This year the when I was there the high was 15 every day I was there,  down here it was about 25 but not near the wind the big lake had it blowing across it.  That might be also because I only fish on ponds from 1 to 15 acres down here.  :-\

I guess people plan trips when they can count on good ice. You may find a foot or an inch of ice just before Christmas. I guess I am a little spoiled, I don't have to risk a 6+ hour drive to test the ice. Once the weather turns watch the report boards, when there is 6'' on Mille Lacs I will post on IS.

Skipper it is more like 81/2 hours because we go to the north end of mille lacs plus it is a group of about 15 from Il and same from MN that meet up at a guys hunting shack.  Lets just say that there is a lot of cans empty whe the weekend is done.
