Open water 3/7
« on: Mar 09, 2015, 10:04 AM »
Hit up my new fav South Metro pond.  Shorts by 9am.  Gorgeous weather, a few nice fish, solitude. Saw maybe 5 boats all day, and no one fished near us.
Full Moon and recent cold spell drove them deep.
Water temp 38-39F.

Grababrewski got the bass @ 57ft.

I got the eye @ 55ft.

Missed an eye at 47ft.

Lost an eye @ 47ft.

Saw several at 63ft.

Nice job, Mike -- that looks like an awesome early season sunny day, and nice keepah.  I love the snow in the background, too!   ;D

Now...to see if any other Colorado Ice Shanty guys migrate over...

I might migrate,  ;D but question is to Pueblo, or CC. ::)  Not sure which will be first. :-\  Boat is only 1 hour of prepping and it will be ready for the water.

I'm starting to get the itch, too -- if anyone has room on their boats early season, let me know.  I've never fished for eyes from a boat.   ;D
