Despite another tight weekend schedule, I managed to squeeze in an hour of fishing this afternoon . . . and am glad I did.
This morning, a buddy and I went foraging for mushrooms, and did pretty well . . . scoring some oysters and lion's manes.
We got back a little after 1 PM, and after cleaning up and a hasty lunch (a coupla slices of bread and a few sips of red wine, both homemade), I was out the door and headed to North Adams to fish the North Hoosic.
When I arrived around 2 PM, the weather was breezy, about 67 degrees and mostly cloudy - - although it cleared up and the sun broke through right about the time that I wrapped up around 3 PM.
In the meantime, I fished from the roll dam (downstream from the Natural Marble Bridge State Park to below the Eclipse Mill dam.
The only strike that I had in between was at Old Glory Rock - - a little more than half between the two dams - - and it was a beauty.
After a brief battle, I beached an 18" rainbow, which I released to fight another day.
