After work special.
« on: May 08, 2020, 09:39 AM »
Got out for a few yesterday.  Started chasing pike, after a few lethargic followers I got bored and hammered on crappie...2 hours of that I was bored again and got back to chasing pike.  I lost one at the boat about 32-35" and landed one a bit smaller.  Can't beat watching one inhale a huge bait at the boat!

Fun to see white and black crappie schooled up together.

Which one's the white?  Didn't know there were white crappie in New England.

Nice work Jon.  Looks like the new boat is getting some use, to say the least.

Yes sir, just had to order 3 more gallons of 2 stroke oil!

I have heard from friends that they have successfully launched in Mass with CT registrations, one of which was at my favorite mass lake.  Time to spread out a bit.

I remember getting a few at a lake in Halifax before. they were small but you could tell them apart by counting the spines on the dorsal fin. once they get bigger you can visually tell. there are very few places that have them but they are around.

Lake I was on is part of the housatonic river system.  Has both white and black crappie.  Next time Ill try to get pics to differentiate...or hopefully the pike will behave and keep me after them.
