You should have seen what I did to get a St. Croix Avid combo from the local bait shop last summer  ;D I will save that story for another time, let's just say I was a lucky I have known the owner for years  ;D

It was Tuesday evening when mom decided to head up to the cottage for the long weekend. With the weather being as shaty as it was all week there was no way we were going to stay home with our heads down all weeekend hoping the rain will change to sun....We needed to fish  Since we were not able to find a seat in a boat for pike/walleye opener(I could not take all the reports that flowed in that weekend  )we took this as an op to get out and boat a few pike to break in the first outing of the year

Friday came quick and with anticipation to get on the water, we loaded the car and we were off to the lake quicker than you could snap your fingers  About half way there the weatherman told us the rain was going to continue through until Monday  Yea right...Jiggy and I knew the fishing was going to be tough..

The cottage!

It was cold and raining every time we went out, but that did not stop us from catching 20+ pike in a day :D Jiggy with a few nice ones..

And myself with a few....

A few shots of the lake..

We fished for walleye for a bit with no luck...Thats next weekends report :D As the fishing slowed down Jiggy and I tried different baits and methods for working the baits to find what was working...Trolling deep diving rebels and bombers with purple and green color to them was hot!

Now, we did not boat the biggest pike in the lake but this trip out with the bro was as fun and intense as any other trip...I cannot wait to get back up there next friday to hook into the big walleye that roam the depths of out little pond (lake :D ) Thanks for reading!

Pike killers included Northams crippled crappie spinnerbaits and spoons....Glass shad raps and bombers worked well too..

Here are a few action videos!!

WTG on the pike'n weekend, some awesome looking waters.  :thumbup_smilie:
Better luck next time on the walleye, put it looks and sounds like you had a full time and blast with the northerns.  :thumbup_smilie:

Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!
