rg...Nope, I know what they are.  I'm not a great fly tier but I think I can do those.  I like bead heads.  That OK?  Thanks.

Won't need them there. A lead wrap seems to work better. Swinging buggers along the shallower edge of the creek bed has always worked for me. I haven''tbeen out there in a few years. I'd like to float one of these past some of those beasts.

rg...I got it in my head that I want to try both sheephead and carp on a fly this year.  Here's a few of the carp flies I've been tying:

Sexy looking flies there ;D
I tied a bunch of these last year. Between the carp and the smallmouth, I've only got 2 left :-\

rg...those look awesome!!  Care to share the materials?  Is that some kind of thin plastic sheet for the back?  I read somewhere you can use strips of baggies for that.

Go back  to page 33 of this topic. There's a complete tutorial.

The back is Thin Skin.

Hey all you fly nutz! Please check out the link below. One of our IS brothers is asking for a little help. The Wounded Warrior program is looking for donations of flies and jigs. I'm sure we all have some to spare.

Lets do the right thing and help support those who have given so much for us.

Thanks!

Man, this fly tying is fun.  Been experimenting.  Liked the idea of eyes on a nymph but wanted something unweighted for shallow water carp.  Found some glass beads and ran them onto a piece of 25# mono.  Melted one end into a ball, cut off the excess and melted the other end.  Took a black marker and colored the melted mono ends to look like a pupil.  Ought to catch something.

that will definetly work for carp.   they love nymphs and bugger type flies in any color in the brown/rust spectrum.

There's nothing more fun than developing your own pattern and then actually catching fish on it.
