Man that soup looks good Dom,

Making Braciola today. Been waiting all week. Home made pasta, home made sauce and home made bread.

Home style cooking👍

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Hey...any of you use an air fryer? Been looking at one at Lowes that’s on sale. I’m wondering if it’s worth the trouble.

Well...I’ve got an oven and I’ve got a toaster....just kidding.

My Bride and I like fries and such and oven baked they’re just awful. Firing up the deep fryer stinks up the whole house  and I can’t always do it outdoors. My cost on a $100 unit would be less than $40. I think I’m gonna give it a try.

My bread is in the oven rising and getting happy. Off to the store for a couple Braciola ingredients.

Bread is done

Fresh ribbon pasta is made

Put the Braciola together.
Salt pepper garlic

Nice layer of fresh spinach

Layer of chopped hard boiled egg

Layer of fresh Parmesan  and Asiago

Roll them up...tie them up

Soon they will go into the Dutch oven on the stovetop to be browned on all sides. Then I’ll deglaze the pot with some red wine add the sauce and Braciola back in to simmer for a good hour or so. .

Might be an early dinner. I’m getting Hungry!

Getting happy in the sauce.

Dom, I can’t believe you’ve never made Braciola. It’s one of those make how you want dishes. Typically it was made with tougher cuts like flank pounded thin. I use thin sliced sirloin. Much more tender and a bit more fat for flavor. Pork works well too...or venison. I’ve also made similar with poultry.

My first experience was at a family dinner at my high school girlfriend’s home. A very Italian family with immediate family, grandma and uncle all living in one home. My Girlfriend’s parents ran a catering business and if I was going to see their daughter, I was by God going to earn the privilege. But, after a day of playing busboy, we always went back to their house for a family dinner. Grandma was busy in the kitchen all day. Hand made pasta, sauce, and on occasion, Braciola.

Girlfriends come and go at that age, but I’ll never forget the food.

Always been my problem Bob.   ;)

Mine was awesome too!!
Got enough leftovers for 3 small ziploc bags with thin sliced for samiches.  2 went in the freezer.
And a ziploc with 3 thick slices for meal #2
A a ziploc 1/2 full of cubed pcs for one of our next salads.
Probably the best pork loin I’ve ever done.
