BBB, yes the gate is open, the dock needs to be pushed out. There were a few guys out yesterday. I checked the water temp over on East Stoney on Tuesday and it was low 50's. Wasn't much of a walleye run this Spring but the weather has been screwy, as you must know. Haven't heard any reports. Good Luck....h2l

Snuck out tonight for a few hours, was flat calm when I got out to where I wanted to fish then the wind picked up and it got pretty choppy, I spent more time playing with the new electronics and dialing In the settings than I did really fishing but did manage a couple short walleyes pretty awesome watching them eat on the livescope

Good that you got out and got to "play" with your new toy and even caught some fish. What was the water temp?....h2l

To be honest I looked at it on the finder and I completely forgot what that number was. I want to say it was around 52-54 but I may be wrong

That would be surface temp, right?? Plus, a jigging question. What line size do you guys use for what weight jig?? Also, does the line size go down if fishing 20' water to 40' water?? TIA.

Thanks, that seems about right, temp is the 1st thing I look at.

Kim, I have used 6lb fireline for the past 20+ years, I feel it gives me a more direct "feel" to my jig....h2l

H2l are you using a leader on your fireline, I use 10 lb. Suffix 832 braid with a 6 lb. Fluorocarbon leader. That has been working for me.

No leader, I tie direct to jig. You been out yet. I haven't even gotten the boat out yet....h2l
