I've got my life back to normal (if you can call it normal). I ordered some silly worms and bought a ball of yarn to experiment with on the cinder worms.  Will post some pics soon.

now if I had some brown or olive green barred rabbit strips that would make the perfect goby pattern for smallies... but I used black and it is for stocker fest trout around here lol's ...

Around here they're a brownish color. The ones I get in the canal are closer to black.

I'm still building a rod . Should have it complete this weekend. Then it's back to the fly bench. I've got a bunch of buck tails to tie up for crappies and bass and a list of summer patterns to play with.

At least I've got something to do

Looks like winter is gonna stick with us well into March. I just might have to build my son a fly rod. At 40 he's finally decided he'd like to do some fly fishing with the old man. Better late than never.

It's getting there Mac. Just have to wind up the second tip and do a final adjustment. Should be putting finish on it by Sunday.

Then  I'll be waiting to give it a test fly.
