Kids squishy ball Trap. Walmart….$5…..hundreds of tails.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Ecobb,  thank you for that   The Lamson certainly deserves a look over.  Plan on taking a ride up there tomorrow.  Will look at both reels

Wish they were closer to me. My favorite source for supplies. Great people. Great prices. Great products. Great shipping.

Just remember, fly reels hold line. That’s about it, unless you plan on fishing for something big.

Point taken rg  that's why I'm looking at discounted prices    either one of the reels mentioned can be had without breaking the bank.  Seems odd to be looking at fly reels. Right now it's snowing like crazy here.

Some of the reels I use are 50+ years old. They still hold line and do the job.

I’m not a fan of the modern skeleton reels. Don’t see the advantage. Just think they’re less for more. My Red Truck Diesel
5/6 wt is a super solid reel that will be in my wil. Not to mention my South Bend collection and others. if I have anyone to leave it to.

Hard to do at that point.

The liquids are pretty much unbreakable and the price is super reasonable.

Good day to spend on the bench. Getting ready for crappies on the fly.

I love thunder creek minnows. Very underrated streamer but one of my most productive tout flies. Those look a whole lot better than the ones I tie. I think I use too much hair because it seems to stand up almost like a caddis sometimes

Yeah, sparse is better. I made a set of “hair pushers” just to make these flies. They range from 1/8”  to 1/4”. Makes forming the head super easy.

Love this pattern. I use red nail polish for the darker coolers and black for the lighter. Bothe are topped with UV resin. Awesome crappie flies. (I’m not a trout guy)
