Thanks Fred. It has been an outstanding year.

Oh and I heard a friend has been doing great night fishing with worms.

Wife and I are up on vacation on the lake from pa staying on north shore. Fishing has been great, found active
fish is 38 feet. Couldn't get out yesterday just to windy. Coming up again sept. 19 for a week of fishing.
What depth are the fish at that time of year. Was thinking they would be in the weeds that time of year.
Really love the lake.

Same here. I have trolled deep right through until Ice some years. Some years the shore bite rolls right through until ice.

Every year is different.

Hey guys. I haven't been on here much lately, but figured I'd drop a quick report. The walleye fishing continues to be exceptional overall. We've had a couple tough outings, but for the most part we're catching fish just about any way we want too whenever we can get out.

Jig bite has been great. Blue/white bucktails with glow heads have probably been the most consistent for us on bright days with purples a close second when its overcast. Jigging raps in both #5 and #7 in glow anything, black/silver, or blue/silver.

Also catching lots of fish trolling leadcore. 4-6 colors in 28-35 fow. Smacked a 24" and 25" last time out both on a UV blue dolphin stinger that was rigged up for steelies. Picking up a lot of the bigger fish suspended at 20-25 feet. Small challengers in perch, back/silver, back/gold, Nils Master Invincibles in almost any color but particularly Blue/white, black/silver (these are probably the best walleye lures I've ever used on Oneida. Still running a couple my grandfather used to use 30 years ago. Wish they were easier to get a hold of because they absolutely crush!), and Johnson Salix spoons in gold or silver have all been consistent producers.

I haven't fished crawlers lately because, well I haven't had too...

We're catching fish of all sizes. Definitely a ton of eater size fish but we're picking up a lot of bigger (22"+) eyes as well.

That's about all I got. Hope everyone is staying safe and having fun out there!

Thanks for a great report ,Setterman.  I have 2 lead core setups, and want to learn how to use them.  How fast do you troll with leadcore?
Thanks,
Traveler

I normally run 1.8 to 2.2.

I start around 2.0 mph off my gps and go from there. Often I'll hit fish either on the inside or outside rod during a turn. Depending on that, I'll adjust.

One day I could only catch fish during an aggressive port side turn. Got dizzy... :o
