Up on vacation from pa, staying on squam. Trying for salmon and or rainbows. Been fishing in the church
area and kent island. Any help on the depth I should be trolling at this time of year would be greatly
appreciated. thanks in advance

Never been on “Golden Pond” but on Winnipesaukee a few miles south of Squam, 6 colors of lead core in 60-90 FOW was working a few weeks ago.
Haven’t fished in a while...building an addition on my house.
Dark single hook streamer flies with some red and orange was working as well. Good luck!

Never been myself but I've read on multiple posts on here that the depth changes fast and it's easy to get stuck on bottom.

You are far better off targeting smallmouth on that lake than any other species. One of the best smallmouth lakes in the state.

Did end up this morning with 1 22 1/2 salmon and a nice rainbow

Fantastic! That's encouraging. I have trolled there dozens upon dozens of hours and never managed a coldwater fish there yet. 22-1/2 is a nice size salmon for any lake.

Same scenario for me jethro. There’s no fish in that lake!
And 22” is a very nice salmon! Any pictures?

It's been a lotta years since I put in any effort at Squam other than fishing the rock piles for smallmouth. I may have to put it back on the list and drag the trolling boat up there.

I have trolled for salmon up there before but in the spring and always did very well.
