Bride picked up a Picnic Roast when shopping for a Boston Butt for pulled pork this weekend. I’m still new to smoking, so I am not sure if there is a difference. From what I’ve read online the Picnic Roast May be even more tender.

Any tips/advice on smoking the roast that is different than the butt?

I would skin it if it's not already done. It will let the spices and smoke penetrate better. Then smoke away.

I believe the boston butt is from higher in the shoulder. Either should be fine for pulled pork.

Aldi's had beef brisket on sale today for $4.99/lb and it is marinated in some sort of bbq thingy.
I got two 5# pkgs and will smoke them on the pellet smoker with some baked beans Saturday.
Not sure what else we will have with it.

I forgot to add the diced hot peppers to the beans.  I just added them and stirred.  I stir the beans about every 30-60 minutes.  Helps them to grab more smoke and also helps get rid of more moisture and thicken properly.

Pumped full of brine and then soaked for 10 days...
In smoker for 18 hrs at 160° and then 2 1/2 hrs at 220° to reach 150° internal temp..
I like to shut the hams down around 150° so that when they get put in oven or cooked again there is less chance of them drying out
