Trying salamonie next week most  likely from the shore.   Open to catching anything.   Not fished it before, so any locations or advice would be appreciated.

Try around the 105 bridge... either side.  Its a fairly easy park and walk down to the water.  It puts you in the area of deeper water close to shore.  I find the crappie like to school up on the shaded sides of The bridge pilings.

Reports from last weekends fishing tourney is it's a tuff bite right now. You will catch some crappie but size likely won't be much. The Indiana slab masters are fishing this weekend so there will be several boats on the lake. Catfish might be your best bet using worms shrimp or cut bait. The bridge area as tator stated is as good as anywhere right now. You will catch a few cats below the dam also.
