Fishing near Malone NY

I already posted about the Upper Chateguey, where ill be staying next week. Ive fished it 1x before and had limited success with boat issues, pretty sure when i fish there next week ill be concentrating around Moffit Island.
My next question is if anyone has any recommendations for OTHER fishable water in the area. I am bringing my kayak to fish when need be, just hoping to put my 11 year old on any kind of hot bites goin on up there right now.

If it were me I'd dedicate myself to taking the drive to champlain from Malone.  Take the ride down 11 and fish rouses point.

I lived in Malone for A while, you can catch trout right in town. Pieces of hot dog work there, it's just below the Glaziers factory.
