Trout unlimited
« on: Aug 08, 2022, 01:39 PM »
I joined trout unlimited and received a fly rod and reel. I was wondering if these were a good rod for a beginner. Suggestions for backing and line. Can’t find a active chapter near me.

Reels hold line for the most part. I have good, really good, bad, really bad and ugly. They all hold line.

What weight and length rod is it?
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I looked at the Central MA site and it looks like covid has impacted them. There is some info on their site that may help you get in contact with them

Thank you for that link. I had sent Trout Unlimited a email because I misplaced my card. I had become a life member. I also asked about chapters in my area. I haven’t heard anything from them. Only thing I seem to get is them asking for money.

Scott makes some good rods. Don’t think you can go wrong with that. Line is your next consideration.
