Headed out early this morning for some brownies on the fly and came across this.
Someone got snagged in a tree branch overhanging the stream and their hook was hanging down from it about 2 feet.
Sucks for this guy.

i have had them wrap up in my fishing line while bullheading. I can't stand it when you are sitting there and boing!!!!!! you tink its a bite but its just the bats hitting your line

You can catch them fly fishing at night as well, I dont see why you would want to but I know some people that have.

I remember that we used to have to watch for them while trout fishing below Union Falls in the afternoons. Bats came out early there, and loved to chase Phoebes being cast into the pocket water. No one ever caught a bat though, because in-house rule is, "you catch 'em, you clean 'em!"
