Denver-Metro Walleye - Too early??????

So this weekend I am going to be at the Adams Co Fair Ground for a livestock auction and was thinking about staying an extra night and doing some walleye fishing saturday evening/night, either on Chatfield or Cherry Creek. I dont feel like hauling my boat down to the concrete jungle as I hate driving in populated areas enough as is so I'd be shore fishing. Question is, is it too early and not worth my time? Water temps at Harvey Gap were barely 50 yesterday and that's not much higher than Denver as far as elevation. Also, I have never fished down there and heard that lake gets really crowded, is it that bad? Not many walleye fishing opportunities up here so I thought maybe id take advantage of being down there already!

Your chances are better at Chatfield, they have been catching eyes from shore for weeks.

Sorry that I cannot add to the discussion. I don't fish the metro areas and have not fished for eyes. Good luck to you.

LOL, iceosprey, I was half joking, but only half. I have noticed you seem to be the only other person on this board the last 3 weeks though! That brings the total up to 3 people!

CC tournament fishers scored a total of 80 walleyes weighed in. Blade baits = 0, lead line trolled on bottom with flicker shad baits most productive first day.

See winner caught a 9.63 # as one of the 5 fish limit, and bested 2nd place by little over 7#. Think the total weight for bought days was over 21#

Well with 63 boats out someone had to catch something, which they did. Now I'm ready to go now that it has calmed down. Maybe you could stop over had show me how to launch a 18 foot boat with out a dock ?
