Saturday, June 22nd, Cloudy Super Full Moon 2013 = Awesome top water fish'n.

This was my son's 1st time going out late on the lake with me up at camp. I let him choose black or red/white jitterbug, so he took black and I, red/white. We also threw some crankbaits with a few smallies and rockies also caught. It started out with a little rain right before sunset, but was all good, done rain'n when we got to our 1st spot. This 1st smallie was on the crankbait. My son said, "How will I know when I get a fish, it feels like a fish as I'm reel'n in?" I told him it will jerk back and then, "Oh oh I got one."  ;D

So I get on too.

Then the super moon comes out for a peeky see.

And out on the end of the point, we get a well pleasing double.

Then it was about 11pm, so time for a snack break and call mom for good night and then over to the honey hole shoreline and point.  ;)
He was pooped and taking a break after the short run and me starting to fish. After about the 3rd fish, he was right back up in the seat beating the banks again, lol.  :D

Some real nice smallies off the top water jitterbug'n.

Finally figured out reel and stop, reel and stop, even had one take the jitterbug without even making a sound, it was awesome!!

And I even caught a nice one too, wink, wink!

And finally a few more moon shots at the end of the night about 1am.

used to plug for big mouths all the time, night only after 9 pm til midnight was good. Cant beat the excitement, black jitterbug was our favorite ! Good to see a youngster keeping the tradition going

The more time a boy and his dad spend on the water, the more they have in common and the more opportunities there are to talk along the way.
"Oh oh I got one"...........Such a precious expression!!!!!!
Equal Billing: Crankbait degrees; Typically, the narrower the bill, the tighter the wiggle; the wider the bill, the wider the wobble.

You guys had an awesome outing! I remember jitterbugging with my Gramps many years ago. Thanks for the memories.  :)

Well done dad!

Thanks guys, yea the lake up at camp is awesome at night, no one normally around, got the whole lake to ourselves and lots of memories for sure at night in the boat with my father as a young boy, too. And I have to say he started off with only 1 slight tree hunter. He was funny, "Ah, dad it landed in the tree, sorry?", I reply, "Yank it once real hard.", "It came out!!", "that is great and remember, it won't be your last time in the trees."   ;D  ;D

It's so fun what you guys did... my buddy and I were out the other night hoping for a late night trip, but t-storms chased us off the water.  What a great set of pics, and glad to see your son having such a good time, and you too.  I'm sure he'll never forget that night.  Way to go Dad!

Thanks for sharing, glad to see those fishing pics of yours again!
