Title: Tent Recommendations

Hi all,

I am looking for a spacious 8 person tent and cannot make up my mind. I don't want to break the bank but I also want something that will last a few seasons if treated with care. Currently, here are the two I am looking at.

Coleman River Gorge 8 - on sale for $90.  ( I heard the zippers were very cheap plastic and break)

Cabelas Eagles Camp Family Voyager 8 - $180 ( only 1 picture available )

Does anyone have experience with these or recommend something different? I camp for 3 days at a time about twice a year.

Camped with a new Coleman River Gorge 8 this weekend in the rain, stayed dry and the zippers worked fine, but it is clear that you should be careful with them... Wife loved all the room!

Yea -  its definitely the largest in its class. Are the entire zippers plastic or is there a way to take the plastic off and tie some small rope in a loop to the metal?

Kelty makes a great tent...I've had Coleman ...bought a 6 man kelty last season ...is pricey but kids still want to go back....so it was worth the money

There is a "string" already on mine... But the rest looks plastic...
