I havea 1996 6hp johnson on my 14 ft aluminum and i like to troll for brown trout...but for some reason wheneever i take my hand off of the throttle arm the motot starts swinging left making me vere right when im trying to keep a nice straight line. is there any way to adjust it so its a little tighter. where i can take my hands off to reel in with out out fighting the boat?

There is a steering friction screw. It's #41 in this schematic. This might not be the exact same model as yours, but I'll bet that screw is there.

Fisher is correct. On all the arms there is an adjustment as to how easy/hard it is to turn the motor. follow the arm down to the body and look around.
