Do they stock the trout through the ice this time of year?Do they just drill holes and stick them in?

I take a drive out from NY to fish trout during spring break.  At times it's like shoting monkeys in a barrel.  You just need to find what they're eating.  I went with my bro and we casted the same size same brand just a tad diffent shading and he was catching them I wasn't.  Once I changed over things evened out.  Great trout ponds ;D

hey Yoda you sure that your brother isn't just a better fisherman? On the stocking reports i saw the other day in the cape cod times pics of them stocking the ponds. the shores were melted enough to dump them in. i fished the trout pretty good last year and never caught one of those tiger trout. does any one Know a place to get hooked up with them. they just look awesome. this weeks weather looks pretty good for getting rid of the rest of the ice.
good luck to all

I emailed the fish and game department and they said that they will not be stocking the rivers for at least a few weeks due to all of the flooding.

Onota lake here in pittsfield was just stocked with alot of trout, I wnet fishing today, no one was catching any trout, later that day around 7pm, I hooked and landed a nice fat rainbow, bout 15, 16"er, bout 2lbs, caught it on a nightcrawler, and bobber, since everyone else was using powerbait.
