BEST SPINNERBAIT COLRS

Looking for favorite spinnerbait color combo's for the Seneca river.
Any help would be appreciated.

try gold and silver mepps

black furry bucktails

and firetiger mepps!

Thanks for the info pikemaster789, I'm heading to Bass Pro to pick up a couple and
give them a try this sunday. Spinnerbaits have been working pretty good on pike
up to 6lbs. The big guys chase them but dont hit them. I'm hoping a bigger in-line
spinner will do the trick.

black spinner blades with yellow or orange spots with a red or copper colored body
glow in the dark spinner blades with black spots and a black and white body
use larger spinnerbaits dont screw around with small ones if your after pike.

I aprpreciate the color combos. I was heading out this weekend, but we have been
getting pounded with rain here in the northeast, I may be to be forced to fish for salmon ... darn.

Spinnerbite
I'd try a 1 oz marabou musky killer in black or firetiger. Bucktails with marabou or spinnerbaits with it if you can find them(Bass Pro might have a few) might do the trick if regular spinnerbaits aren't doing it. They seem to have more lifelike action. You also might wish to add a trailer hook to your spinnerbaits and grub to add additional bulk and action and trigger some of the followers or short strikers. But try the marabou ... it's hot.

not a grub add a 8" contrasting color worm. prefuring ribbon tailed worms if your using  white spinnerbait go with a chartrusese worm. cut a bout 3" off the head of the worm.

during heavy rain is one of my favorite times to use large inline spinners. find a weedbed and fish the edges of the weedbed, use various speeds until you find the speeds the fish are hitting at the keep using thats speed. just invest in some good rain gear and you will get some nice pike during the rain. i spent all of last summer trying to figure out these fish and have learned that small lures of any kind are pointless if you are going for monsters. large spinners with and some without bucktail and your golden for big pike

Big bait big fish.  I too am re-learning soft water pike tactics after chasing them only in the winter for years.  I have had the most strikes on a black and orange Mepps with bucktail but the most landed on a silver w/copper body bucktail.  Good luck.

number 5 gold or silver mepps without anything on the hooks.best when the shallows are warming in the spring and the minnows are starting to move and school.

For pike I like to use an offset spinner. They are detachable and you can use them with any jig or jig and softplastic.
They work well attached to a storm wildeye.

For colors I like chartruce yellow, perch, silver, gold or white.
My favorite blade is a colorado, but, if you want lots of flash go with a willow leaf blade in silver or gold.

Match the blade to your lure size, too big a blade and it may run unusual.

You can buy them pre-made.
If you don't like the blade simply remove it and replace it with your preference.

I have not tried them yet, but,I feel the new storm spin tail shad in the largest size may also be worth a try.

My favorite is Black and Blue, with a colorado blade. Have caught Bass and Pike on this color when nothing else has worked. I have fished side by side with my buddies and have outfished them no matter what color they were using. Try it.
