I don't blanch mine just vacuum pack and there fine....

Actually, I have done both.
I really have not seen a difference.
One thing is always in my mind though.
Germs, etc.
The blanching does help to insure you kill the micro organisms, etc.

RG, we freeze our peppers raw after we wash them. We put them in gallon zip-lock bags. We do bags of strips that are great for sausage and peppers, and bags of diced (3/8" square or so) that are great for chili, pizza, omelets, etc. Open the bag, grab what you need, reseal the bag, and back into the freezer. If you keep the air out of them, they'll keep for a couple years.    ;D

Here's a trick.   8)
When freezing anything in a zip-lock bag, whether it be veggies, fish, meat, or anything else, fill the bag with your goodies and submerse it in water up to the zipper before closing. The water pressure surrounding the bag will force the air out. No sucking on a corner of the bag.  ::)    No more freezer burn.   :-X
Try it. It works.  ;D

Cool idea FM. Thanks!

I was contemplating a vacuum sealer. I like your idea better.

I'd travel a good long ways for that feed.

Something tells me we'd have enough for you too KP. You can bring the duck ;D

Rg
I can do that! ;D

That's a GREAT idea!
Just don't let the vacuum sealer companies know or it will "let the air" out of their business balloon!  ;D

Well the mums didnt look so good this morning...
We had 2" wet snow with rain and freezing rain with ice on everything. Woke up at 230 to the sound of limbs crashing..
My yard is a mess and it up rooted my favorite tree, my white birch. I carried that tree out of the woods as a sapling 25 years ago.. >:( >:(
When it pulled up it also pulled  up the underground cable..
Now I have a temporary  cable laying on the ground all the way out to the  pole..
And it's snowing/raining again...

Bummer Dom!

Well, at least you know where you can get another tree. And, I'm sure you'll be around in another 25 years to admire it.
