Brown’s , Smallies and White’s
« on: Jul 24, 2020, 06:50 PM »
We had our annual vacation at a camp on Great pond in Belgrade. 76 * water temperature is tough for fishing but we caught some fish! The first morning didn’t find any Brown’s but trolled through a school of Big white perch. Caught 9 enough for a tasty fish fry.
Day 2 my friend Julie wanted to troll. I wanted her to take the first bite when the down rigger released. I told her not to horse it we are not worm fishing . It got to the Boat to quick and it shook the hook. It was painful to see a 22”-24” Brown swim off with the net in my hand. The next bite I landed a 15” Brown on the lead core .
Day 3 Ken and I caught 4 Browns between 13”-16” and a few small mouth. Let them all go.
Day 4 was the slowest just 2 Smallmouth. One was 18” and thick. It was a great 4 nights spent, fishing, swimming and giving the kids tube rides.

They sure are a good eating fish. Some of the bigger ones fought harder then a 14” trout. 👍🐟
