Mix bag
« on: Jun 18, 2023, 07:56 PM »
The spring trolling started out slow with just landing a couple fish a trip and even 2 skunks. One of the trips was a small laker and salmon. Today was one of my best mornings so far landing 3 Browns. The water was stained from all the rain and the wind made it tough trolling. The large shiners caught 2 and the other a blue brined smelt the other.

I also have been to the coast 3 times  in search of Stripers. I have caught pollack and mackerel and live lined them for bait.
I caught a fat 29” after having a Mac in the water for less than 5 minutes. It was a nice healthy fish that I let go after reviving it . Then I couldn’t catch any more bait or Stripers that trip. The 28”-31” slot is small so I probably won’t be taking many home . Doh!
Im glad to live in a state that has so many species to fish for. 🐟🎣

Some very solid fish in the mix!

Weather conditions have certainly made fishing a challenge so far this year.

Real nice mix, Wayne.  Always enjoy the browns you put on here 8)

I echo the opinion on slow fishing overall.  I just got back from a NY salt water trip that was SLOOOOOW, except for the beer and bourbon.
