Deepwater jigging for pike

(1/3) > >>

TroutFishingBear:
I have had interestingly good results on deep-water jigging sassy shads for pike (about 20 ft deep.) although I'm sure there is a better jig out there for them. Can someone tell me what kind of jigs they use for pike?

TJ:
My two favs are the Northland Whistler & the Airplane jigs, both in glow.
A 4" buzzbomb is wicked action too.

King Fisher:
I have heard that the airplane jigs work great as well.

clarkpygmy:
My favorite pike lure is a 3/8 oz. or 5/16 oz. black bucktail jig with a black ripple rind strip on it... That's more or less a standard lure in Seneca lake, one of NY's Finger lakes... I use a short length of 30 lb. test mono as a shock leader, and check it often, changing it if it is nicked by thier teeth..

What color BuzzBomb do you use?
