Nice salmon, no crowds in Michigan and not too many salmon either. I remember the combat fishing days though, just like your explanation.

   The first salmon I ever caught was off the Holland pier, Michigan in the early 80's and it was crowded back then..

Had a great afternoon yesterday..  I love fishing this time of year when its this warm.. ;D
Big fish was just under 4 pounds..  They were just exploding from time to time...  Fun stuff.. ;D

Me and Dean got out this past Sunday expecting to kill the bass and walleyes..   It was 53* and water was 48*, it was cloudy and rain coming in....   Well it was our worst trip of the season...   No bass or walleyes but Dean got a big perch and I got a nice northern...  Least we didnt get skunked... ;D
