Went out fishing Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Caught these brookies in a stream over by Pleasant lake.

Friday I had to go to Cooperstown and brought the pole with me. I stopped at a fishy looking stream and caught these little chubby mystery fish.

I also saw many deer near the stream.

Saturday I tried the east branch of the Sacandaga with no results. Here's a great scenery shot with my Girlfriend.

Sunday we hiked into Broomstick lake. You need a small boat or raft to fish because the beavers have raised the water level not leaving anyplace to fish but was very scenic.

Yup, creek chub. If you catch bigger ones, bring em home and freeze them. They make great Pike bait ice fishing.
"I fish because I love to; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience; because maybe one day I will catch a mermaid; and finally, not because I regard fishing as being so terribly important, but suspect so many other concerns of men equally unimportant- and not nearly so much fun."

With all the rain we've been getting it has been a while since I've been able to fish. I got to fish for about a half hour between rain storms this weekend in the old hometown. Nothing like fishing the old fashion way with a worm, hook and bobber. My brother and I caught numerous perch and bluegills. After a while I stopped taking pictures otherwise I would have used up my memory chip. They are not record breakers, but they are fun to catch.

Nice bunch of pictures in the last couple of updates. I know the stream you were fishing at and the field that the deer are always in. The stream does hold some decent brookies, That hole you were fishing at gets hit pretty hard for the first week of trout season :)

I finally got out with some good weather yesterday evening. My girlfriend and I het her family's camp in the southern Adirondacks. We fished for an hour before she started kicking my but with this small perch and 23 inch pickerel.

I then started catching rockbass after rockbass. I figure Maine or Michigan would want them for their stew.

And for the last fish of the night I caught big bertha here.

And as we were heading back in to camp I just had to snap this scenery picture.

very nice camp pictures and a great fish catching time on the water, WTG.  :thumbup_smilie:
Fishing isn't a matter of life or death, it's much more important than that!

I live with FEAR everyday, and sometimes she lets me go fishing!

I love her. She baits her own hooks, takes her own fish off, and she loves the outdoors. Definitely a keeper. ;D

Its t he same with my significant other. She doesn't get out quite as much as I do due to her other interest (i.e. her passion for horses) But when she does she's a pretty (literally) competitive angler.
