Live Bait in Ogunquit

I have a coworker heading to Ogunquit this weekend for an annual trip with her family. They have tried for years to catch stripers with squid in the past but everyone they talked to said to get mackerel, which they can’t find.

Anyone know of any bait shops between Boston MA and Portland ME that may have mackerel?

Theres quite a few shops.  I think it might be a bit tough up there for stripers.  We had quite the upwelling post Lee and water temps have dropped significantly.  Id imagine there may only be a few schoolies left. 

Maybe call Kittery Trading post re bait.

Go to the supermarket for a few… you’d have to catch them yourself if you want them live, and bait shops usually sell them frozen.

There is a place in Wells called
Webhannet river bait and tackle
207-646 -9649 you could call there or Saco bay tackle on route 1 .

Never found any love bait, or frozen bait for that matter. The kids caught a few schoolies on these. The father is heading out on a charter Tuesday
