so i finally got the turkey so now its time for mushrooms!
i have went twice so far and i found one and my mom has found 5.
i am terrible at finding them even when my mom would point out where it was like three feet from this tree next to that bush i wouldn't see them.
any hints on what to look by? or do they just grow where ever?
thanks! -stacy

Look at the base of dead elm trees, apple trees, cherry trees, etc. That is where I have always had the best luck. Some woods are better than others for shrooms and the good ones are kept secret!

Make sure you know your identification. There are false morels that look sort of like a morel and they can kill you.

We found 38 on monday and only 3 tonight after looking for about 2.5 hours! I talked to the owner and no one had been out there since we were there on monday. I found 2 yellows and 1 of them was dried up already! I wish you luck looking for them but like I said I think it's time to head north!
