time to tug on togs
« on: Oct 14, 2010, 03:59 PM »
took the day off thur to tug on some togs in gansett bay. caught 28 myself with only 3 keepers the largest being 18". i know sucky catch/keeper ratio but at least we were catching. those suckas are tough. the biggest pulled out drag til it got back to the bottom. also had about a 10lb blue that i lost near the boat and it straightened out the hooks on my lure. i also saw a harbor seal sniffing around all the bait pods. here's a pic for the non believers.

in a boat. it's the best way to catch them. fishing straight down avoids alot of snags and u can get to better spots but u still loose rigs but not as many. get some used spark plugs to use as weights  (u can usually get them free from a mechanic) next time your fishing from shore. that way your only paying for a lost hook  ;)
