I love crossing the border.

All fish are still swimming-
Me and Bro went on a trout hunting adventure.  1st lake was a couple mile hike into the wilderness. water was way up very little open shore to fish in only hiking boots. 4 hrs we got 3 brookies all 18-20". bros big was 3.61 lbs. not bad for a brookie.  Mine went 18".

That night camped at a big lake and threw some bait out then did some eating and drinking. never got bit but I left my rod out all night and in the morning most of the line was gone and no fish.

So we drove about 35 miles to the next lake. drove right up to the shore on a main-lake point on the windy side.  Took 4 casts to get bit and it was brooks and browns for the next 2 days. i landed 45 and Bro landed 37.  We missed/lost 2 or 3 times that many. Fished from 7am till 10PM both days.
Took thunderstorm/lunch breaks of like 2-3 hrs both days.

Most rookies were 14-16" and FAT.  browns were all 16-19" and chubby. Maybe 1 or 2 hit 20".  I got the big brown at 7.5 lbs on a silver/ orange kasty. Most any metal worked but kastys were best. Tried flies and rapalas but not a touch.

Left this morning at 630am and got home at 130pm.  I'd go back for sure.

Met Alan of "Lakefinder" fame and he got 9 or 10 in a couple hrs.

Thx it was an excellent voyage.  That lake only allows you to harvest 1 fish. We let them all go-
