Fish like that one are far and few between. Back in the '80's saw a 39.2 and a 35.0 in back to back years. Only seen one since then that hit 30. Lake gets a lot of pike pressure during ice season and some nice fish get released by some fishermen. There are still some nice fish here. The 46.2 was caught in Sept and may have had eggs in it. You don't see many pike fishermen on the lake in the fall when it is one of the best times to get into a big fish. I haven't fished for pike in the fall since Herb passed away. (4/5 years) They do take a few of my jigs every summer and I have been known to land a few, but not many over 36 inches. 4 or 6lb line doesn't make the odds very good.....h2l

Growing up, I had a neighbor that did a lot of pike fishing with shiners under bobbers. He used to catch some slobs. I remember he used to nail their heads to his barn by their gills. Smelled like the devil until the flesh rotted off, then they looked pretty cool. I was thinking about doing the same thing on Chittenengo Creek in slow deep sections in the Kirkville/Bridgeport area. It'll be way too hot for that this weekend though....
