Summertime
« on: Jul 20, 2023, 07:39 AM »
Issues with what has turned out to be a cranky, (or lack thereof), outboard have kept the little red boat in the carport this summer. As
a result, most of my angling efforts have either involved a canoe or wet wades on the local creeks.  In spite of the local cloudbursts, most of the streams in central Indianas are low and fairly clear. Indeed, we got 2 inches of rain 3 days ago, and the sump puimp never
kicked on.

One benefit has been the top water bite.  For the last month, the post spawn smallies have have kept my Tiny Torpedo busy to the point that I have mashed down the barbs on the lead treble and replaced the back one with a single #4 aberdeen. In the mix has been the occasional goggleye or white bass. Sore thumbs = good times...

Next up, I believe I might take a crack at hooking some of the mongo carp I've seen in some of the pools...

fish on,
