I heard they closed the road to the lake is there any info on this? would like to go one day but its a bit of a drive without knowing if its open.

They closed the road that cuts accross a patch of private land on the west side of the lake.  The public road on the North East side the brings you in right at the Dam is open.
Unless its changed in the last couple weeks you should have no problems getting into Petrolia.
