Can anyone explain to me how this is supposed to work better than just a line with a hook with a corn kernel on it? It seems to me that the hook will obviously be in open and plain view, spooking the fish, and when the fish finally takes in the bait, the hook will be outside. Also, putting the bait, whether a doughball or corn on the "needle" or whatever also seems weird. If there is a needle or some device which is to fasten the bait, then it defies the whole purpose because it's supposed to not spook the carp when it tastes the bait. I know since a lot of people use it, especially in the UK, that I'm obviously wrong, but can anyone answer my questions?
