OK....here's my 2 cents: Lures are nothing more than tools. A carpenter uses all kinds of saws, jigs, drills, etc., based on the job at hand. So must a fisherman determine what to use (and how) when he's faced with a cold front, sunny skies, rain, etc.. Depth and speed control can be the only ciriteria you can use to be a successful fisherman (Buck Perry). And I believe he is correct. You have to find the fish first. Any aberation with regards to action, size, color, etc., are just to be considered AFTER the first 2 primary objectives are achieved. Then and only then can you make a logical selection on the later.
