Orange is what I had with me for some reason.

Those little foam poppers are super easy to make and work better than any other  style I've tied. I tie some smaller ones for the 2 wt.

Rg...

Do you tie in any kind of underbody like chenille, peacock, yarn, etc. or do you just lay down a base of same color thread as the foam? Just curious, I've always tied in underbody on foam terrestrials such as beetles. Didn't know as it would matter much for a foam popper.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Just get the shape right and it's easy. 1/4" foam from Walmart. I think it was some kind of craft door knob hanger thing.

I'm sure you all get the idea. Need that flat face for a good BLURP ;D tapering the tail seemed to help.

Nice flies guys...

I do a small foam frog very similar...but out of a green flip flop foam.  At one of the dollar stores they are usually only a couple bucks a pair.   I don't recall, I may have posted this one last year?  Anyways here it is.  I do it with both hair legs as well as sometimes with rubber bands for legs.

You guys have inspired me to jump back in ... Seeing all these pretty fish magnets is getting me exited so im going to have to get a vice... Im leaning towards a danvice. My uncle has the old time portable with the big bronze base before they cut out half of the weight, I love that thing and it has great jaw strength.

I can tie streamers, stone flies, hares ear and buggers so I have the basics down . Made some nice steelie streamers/jigs too in the past.

I miss the days of sitting at the bench talking fishing... I need to find an old desk and get some pine, oak trim along with some dowels & stain.. I love a good bench build! Anyone have any ideas?

I've been tying on a Danvise for several years now. It's a great value and a solid vise. Shows no sign of wear after who knows how many flies of all sizes. I tie down to #22 and up to 2/0. The rotary function is smooth and easily adjustable.

I've come close to pulling the trigger on a $500+ vise a few times. I just don't see that kind of value over the Danvise.

Now if I ever come across a Law vise, I'll take out a mortgage and it will be mine!

Trapper will have to post deer hair bug pics. I don't spin worth spit!
Although I have played around with a kind of Clouser Muddler crossbreed for bass

They caught fish too ;D
