I think I understand boondox. That's kinda how I was doing it but found it a little easier grabbing the hook shank with hackle pliers. Going to give the double sided tape a go tonight. Trap you cheap skate  ;D

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

It ain't flies, but here's what I've been working on. The ultimate acute angle sled for my bird house operation.

I had to conjure up something to make repeatable angle cuts for steep and odd angle pieces. Works like a charm...totally adjustable to accommodate anything I can think of.

Simple smart and well done Bob!
Finished up my stupid little midge quota tonight. Tried a few of the tricks and ended up settling on smashing the barb --> hook into hackle pliers ---> fishing for bead in container with hook in pliers. 18's/20's from tonight.

I save these containers you put your bought flies in, they're nice to have around and hardier than condiment ones from wallyworld. I put them under the fly and open the jaws to collect the small stuff. coffee cups for the standard size stuff.

They look good Matt. Nice proportions.

Gonna check my mulberry trees tomorrow morning. Probably a little early yet, but the carp rodeo should be right around the corner.

A jig style I've been playing with recently based on something a friend showed me. Been working on patterns. Zonker with holographic black flash (about 8-10 strands); UV black dub blended with UV steelie blue body (camera sucks, or the blue would pop better); Hareline polar chenille palmered up the final 1/4 of the jig; MFC sexi floss to create a leggy effect (but I love how that stuff flutters in the water, so do the fish) and a short black collar. White head because that's just what I had on hand lol  :)Let me know what ya think

at st.croix.boy that is one good looking jig for I am guessing steel head maybe carp "mulberry's"??   I don't think I would change the body if I had the extra time I would add dots to the head with some rod finish and auto air color pigment paint that's not thinned for air brush use. or even  nail polish "I mean male polish sorry"  like a blue or even a lavender type color that matches the body.. all you need to do the dots is a match stick or tooth pick real simple... looks good no matter if you don't like the white head or not it still looks real dang good!!!
