Tied up some funky helplgrammites and a few Prince nymphs.

I really  like the Hellgrammites  RG   great pocket water fly !  what  did you use  for the shell back

Swiss straw Trapper. Leech yarn body although any body material will work.  Those aren't too big. #8 3x long N- curve. They're bottom weighted and land pretty well hook up. Rockies and smallies love the things.

They're good in olive and black too.

Swore I was only going down to clean stuff up and was going to toss some "unruly materials" that were making a mess.  Got the bright idea to wrap some of it on with a bit of mop material, repackaged the offenders for further review, and here I am pouring another cup of Joe, wondering what just happened.........

Big Guy dropped a few for me to try in his trivia prize package a couple weeks ago.  All I find around here are chartreuse mitts, etc.  Lots of places you can order them from but it takes the fun out of scavenging for them...........  Some day we'll actually get to throw a few of them around.

I found chartreuse and blue at the Dollar Tree store. Ollies has several other colors as well as any other dollar stores that might be in your area. Plenty of colors out there.

dollar store, wally world and auto part stores.  Geo

most fly wear houses has many colors you can just google it  for stores .... wal mart auto has grey it can be dyed many colors .....  mop jigs work and mop flies work well early season  on  non selective  hungry fish ....(stockies)  but  when they become  selective  it's  best to have  a  good   stocked  fly box

Me too!!!! if you don't mind.  I hate the colors that I've got.

I've also been tying double ended mop flies that I think will work almost like a wacky rigged worm.  I put a red tungsten bead in the middle and tied a green mop on each end.  I'll put up a pic later.
