It sure is a beautiful state but the salmon runs are no where near what they used to be. I was last there 6 yrs ago and we caught some dolly’s while fishing for cohos.  Nice looking fish.  I really enjoyed the ocean charters we booked. Loaded up on  halibut, ling cod and rock fish. Can’t beat the scenery for sure.

LOL, I was thinking the same thing. They fit in your net now. "There's always a bigger fish."

We had our family vacation in RI and had fun and great weather but much more beach, family boat cruises, and clamming than serious fishing. We did get my 4-year-old grandson into some stripers one morning simply drifting squid strips behind the boat. He did well with my sons coaching him on. He's still a little hesitant holding the fish, having been pricked by a bluegill and tail slapped by a striper earlier this year but he's getting there.  And we ran into a massive goliath bluefish blitz while cruising along outside Point Judith. Could have used a beer can with a hook on it as bait in the melee.  ;D

I do need a bigger net...

Beautiful pictures Bart!  That's some serious family time!  My little guy is still a bit too small...but before I got my fishing time in he got to see his first hot air balloons!  Then later he touched his first bluegill fearlessly.
