For bass I'd think just to place a 5lb+ fish would be needed (23"+). Trout, 30 inch fish are probably gonna be needed as them Great Lakes boys can get some big fish.

The anything category could be just that.

I plan on targeting sturgeon atleast once or twice in the tourney, only if I do manage to land one it may be tough to get a good picture as I'm not allowed to take the fish out of the water to do so. Kinda s*cks but atleast I can get an oppurtunity to battle a fish that can easily go over 100lbs.

Also I plan on targeting landlocked stripers a few times over the course of this thing so the possibility of a 40"+ bass is always there.

Any place that holds muskies can produce a 50"+ fish for this tourney so my guess is that an upper 40" or low 50" musky will take the anything category unless someone does get a sturgeon and gets the pictures needed to enter it.
Chasing them pigs with fins!

AK isn't coming soon enough....can't wait to fight with 1 grizzly for 100,000 fish instead of 1,000 snaggers for 10.

I'm going to say NY takes the anything category with a very large plastic bag.
Or perhaps a truck tire.

I think you should get a second opinion from your therapist !  :)

land locked salmon(atlantics) could get blown out of the water if either a new york or mich boy pulls out a great laker....30 inch plus...and i feel a sturgeon is needed to beat any musky entered...in mich the min size limit is 42...the average on st.clair is roughly that..not uncommon into the 50s..i think st.lawrence and new jersey has roughly the same average...and depending on if migratory steelhead are allowed will greatly depend on how big trout will be entered.

Measuring is a poor way to judge carps' weight as they vary in shape too much.  Most carpers weigh them in a sling.  My friend caught a 37 pounder yesterday that had a serious tanker gut on it and wouldn't measure as well as a lighter male.  I've caught some unusually long ones that didn't go 30 pounds.   Just my 2 cents.

personal goals........

Bass in the 20inch plus area

Pike...break the 30inch plateau

Walley...25+ inches

Crappie....12+ inches

Most of these are big numbers for the waters I fish, I dont think they are tournament winners, but you never know

I guess so, the largest Crappie entered in the last 2 years was 14inches......

Also gotta remember theres a lot more people netering this year than in years past as well though.

I've gotten 2 crappies over 15" so far this season and haven't even targeted them specifically yet. They were taken on a wooly bugger while fly fishing for gills at a private pond.
