The secrets to fishing
« on: Jul 05, 2007, 03:26 PM »
Fulltmedad gave me and idea to consolidate all of the secrets of having a succesful fishing outing in size and numbers. Here are some of my tips that will almost guarentee a great trip.

1. Do not bring a camera
2. Do not bring a net.
3. Do not bring a livewell/stringer/or basket
4. Forget your fishing license

Does anyone have any other tips or tricks ;)

I f you do all of the above,
Every mile you get away from the water your biggest fish grows by a half inch, and if you drank all the beer that you brought and I am remembering correctly, I believe it's half inch to the 10th power.
We were biting this morning, we were biting this morning, we were biting this morning......

Specifically and exclusively target one species of fish.  You will catch the biggest and most of some other species (and they will not be in season!!!) :P

Here's one i  fugured out the other day fishing smallies in a small river...only bring 4 jig heads and only a few soft plastics and say while leavign the truck" i wont need them anyways"...wasnt a half mile up stream and most of my plastics  and all my jig heads were gone some to the rocks a few to break offs,...had to rig with split shot for the rest of the day...heres another one use the lightest possible line and youll hook the heaviest strongest fish in the body of water your fishing,,,but you'll lose him 2 feet from shore >:( ::)
Fishing isn't a hobby it's an addiction

don't forget to leave that sun rotted line on your reel so it snaps just as you grab for the fish!

If you forget your pliers in the truck you are almost guaranteed to catch something toothy!

Always have your childs Mickey Mouse rod with for a second or third rod; this guarantees a 36"+ Muskie will bite.

When catfishing, stop paying attention to your line.  Either fall asleep, get something out of the cooler, turn your back, pet your dog, anything but watch your line.  That's always when good bites happen.

When bass fishing using baitcasting gear, if you're fishing plastic worms on the bottom and backlash you always get a bite.  Backlash on purpose, LOL!

Hang your line up on a tree branch, seems to be when the biggest bass strike
