Recent banana trout
« on: May 07, 2014, 07:36 PM »
Hey guys I have been out fishing quite a bit this year so far. I thought I would share these pictures of some banana trout that I have caught in the past few weeks. They are a cross between an albinos steelhead and a rainbow. Not native stocked fish that are rare to find. I have been lucky enough to catch seven this month since they were planted. The biggest was 26 inches and 12.4 pounds. All of them were caught on a five weight fly for with 4x tippets which made for great 15+ minute fights. I only kept two to eat and they were pretty good for a trout  ;). Enjoy!

Very cool massntrash, that yellow is definately bannana. I would bet a few of those get picked off by the birds fairly easy when they are smaller
