Stoney Lake
« on: Jul 26, 2011, 06:13 PM »
Well for a change I went back to Stoney Lake (near Humboldt).
Didnt have much choice as it was raining and prob couldnt launch at LL
The fishing was a pleasant surprise. We couldnt keep the Walleye off the hook.
Here are a few pics. As you can see in the second pic Mickey had to inspect each catch.

Still biting at Stoney
The Walleye here really put up a fight.

Stoney Lake was quiet today as far as fishermen and boats but the fishing was hot!
We caught 6 in the first 45 mins and they kept coming all afternoon. We had one stretch for almost an hour where every walleye was over 55cm.

next pic is todays killers. I used the gold thinfin and Pam stuck with her fire tiger hotntot

I switched later to some shad raps  husky jerks and wally divers but caught half a dozen pike and no  eyes.
Back to the thinfin and more Walleye.

We kept 7 of the smaller ones so we can have a family fish fry.
I wont be able to get out for the next week or so  the season so far has been better than average. Stoney also has some huge perch 16-17 inchers but for some reason they get lockjaw in the winter.

Way to go anglerbrian and company, that's the way to get them, nice bunch of fish.
You hit the honey hole. 8)

I also like the Storms hot n tot's and have had good luck on them.
I lost my lucky one last year so purchased a pink fire UV and a fire tiger madflash .
I will have to see if they work as good as the lucky one did.

I have not tried the thinfin yet, but may have to. ;)
