Erie Barge canal

I have fished it a few times, just north of Schuylerville on Rt 4.  There were a few different fish species in there.  I caught a few smallmouth, a pickerel and  bullhead on a crankbait.  Never phenomenal luck, but it does hold fish.

Don't know where you're at, but I used to fish it in Niagara County by the Ship and Shore restaurant. Got alot of channel catfish there; all in the not-to-big range (15 to 20 inches) that were pretty good tablefare. Now's the time if you want to go there for these cats.

Use to get lunker bass, white bass , walleye and perch out of the barge canal outside of rome n.y....was a bar called satches...little creek emptied from the erie canal into the barge canal...was a magnet for the fish of course that was back in the early 80's
