Haha! You didn't see all your buddies pictures on there.  ;)

I think it is hilarious that it is called "social" media, when it is easily the most antisocial act there could possibly be. I work in mental health, and have seen effects of people that spend to much time "socializing" on FB and the like.

These fishing forums are about as far as I am willing to go. Here it is about fishing, and not all about me me me.........

BTW! I had a cheesburger and salad for dinner last night, oh yeah and I stubbed my toe, and my daughter swam in the pool all afternoon. If I was on FB you would already know that.  :rotflol:

Come on who doesn't like some non stop self promotion?  I had started a page just to detail my fishing efforts...that was quickly deleted when one connection shared a pic of some kid needs 392929494929 likes to live another day...

With so many posts under New York, maybe the mods could place the New York threads at the top of the site.  That way we wouldn't have to scan down to see them.

Actually, there is a reason.
It requires significantly more server space and capacity.
Scott, the guy who owns and runs MFF and IS, pays a certain amount of money for what we get here.
The advertising reimburses him...........and he makes some money doing it.
In order to post the pictures directly here, instead of thru Photobucket or another site, he would need to pay for a LOT more capacity.
He could charge the membership a small fee to do this but how many members would do this?
MFF and his other sites wouldn't get the traffic (hits) and then his sponsorship and advertising dollars would shrink.
Kind of catch 22 scenario.

Sites like FB are huge.
Thousands of times larger than these smaller sites.
So they easily get money required to run them through sponsors and advertising.
They even have people on staff working for the site selling advertising space.
Big business.

Hope this helps you to understand the situation.
You still don't need to like it, but at least now you know why.

Yea.
MFF has 13,767 members.
How many would there be if they had to pay a fee?
Then......how many advertisers would Scott have?
What we have is a "happy" medium.

It is what it is.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I think FB is why I can't sleep at night. Every morning when I check my e-mail I see I have gotten 3 or 4 pokes overnight and I don't even use FB...h2l
It should be renamed  " STUPID BOOK "
